CV Optimizer

Privacy Policy

Effective November 4, 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use CV Optimizer, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights. The service is operated by cv-optimiser.

1. Person in charge of protecting personal information

Our Privacy Officer, the person in charge of protecting personal information, is Greg Nathan Ngongang Ouandji. For any question or request about your information, write to ngonganggreg22@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Your account: your email address. If you sign in with Google, Google also sends us your name and profile picture.
  • Your resume: we extract the text of the file you upload. The file itself is never kept: it is read in memory, then discarded.
  • The job posting you paste, the analysis, the rewritten resume, the cover letter and the edits you make to them.
  • Your purchases: the pack, the number of credits, the amount, the currency and the Stripe payment identifier. We never see your card number: you enter it directly with Stripe, which also collects your billing address.
  • Your IP address, only as an encrypted fingerprint (hash), to limit the number of free analyses per day.
  • Technical hosting logs (date, page requested, errors), needed to run and secure the site.
  • Your feedback: the rating and comment you choose to leave after a download.

We use no advertising cookies. To improve the service, we measure its use anonymously with Vercel Web Analytics: no cookies and no individual profile. We only count page views and a few events (analysis started or completed, click to pricing, purchase, download), with no content from your resume. The only cookies keep you signed in. During an analysis, your resume text and the analysis are also kept in your browser (open tab): they stay on your device and are gone when you close the tab.

3. Why we use it

  • To analyze your resume against a job posting, rewrite it and write your cover letter.
  • To let you find, edit and download your documents for 30 days.
  • To manage your account, your credits and your payments.
  • To send you sign-in emails.
  • To prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
  • To measure, anonymously and in aggregate, how the service is used and to collect your feedback, in order to improve it.

We do not sell your information and do not use it for advertising.

4. Your data does not train any artificial intelligence model

We do not use your resumes, job postings or documents to train any artificial intelligence model. Our AI provider, Anthropic, commits in its commercial terms not to use data received through its API to train its models.

5. Our service providers

We rely on specialized companies, which process your information only to provide their service to us:

  • Anthropic (United States): artificial intelligence analysis and writing. Receives your resume text, the job posting and the analysis.
  • Supabase: database and sign-in to your account. Your data is hosted in Canada (Montréal).
  • Vercel: website hosting and anonymous audience statistics. Requests are processed in Montréal, and the site is delivered through a global network.
  • Stripe: payment processing. Receives your payment and billing information.
  • Resend (United States): sending sign-in emails. Receives your email address.
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.

Some of these providers are located in, or process data in, the United States. Your information may therefore be transferred there and be subject to the laws of that country. We choose providers that offer recognized safeguards.

6. How long we keep it

  • Optimized resumes, letters, job postings and analyses: deleted automatically 30 days after they were created. You can delete them sooner, at any time, from your account.
  • Free analysis (no purchase): your resume text and the posting are not kept on our servers.
  • Fingerprint of your IP address: 2 days.
  • Your account and your credit balance: until you delete your account.
  • Payment history: 6 years, as the law requires for accounting. Once your account is deleted, it is no longer linked to you.
  • Your feedback: until you delete your account.
  • Technical logs: a short period, set by our hosting provider.

7. Your rights

  • Access: know what information we hold about you and get a copy.
  • Correction: correct your information. You can edit your documents directly in your account.
  • Deletion: delete an optimization, or your account and all your data, in one click from your account.
  • Portability: download your documents as Word and PDF at any time while they are kept.
  • Withdrawing consent: you can stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

For any other request, write to us at ngonganggreg22@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

8. Security

Exchanges with the site are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to data is restricted: each user can only see their own documents, and the access keys to our providers stay on our servers. If a privacy incident creates a risk of serious harm, we will inform you and the relevant authorities.

9. Minimum age

The service is intended for people aged 16 or older.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. If we make an important change, we will let you know on the site or by email, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
